Print an image at an exact size in inches, cm or mm
Set the physical width and height of a photo, illustration or pattern, place it on a sheet, and create a print-ready PDF. Image pixel dimensions alone do not determine the printed size: use this tool to set the dimensions, then print the PDF at 100% scale.
How to print a picture at a specific size
- Choose an image. Add JPEG, PNG, WebP or SVG files. You can also drag files into the upload area.
- Set width and height. Choose inches, centimeters or millimeters. Keep aspect ratio on to calculate the other dimension from your image.
- Choose paper and placement. Select US Letter, Legal, Tabloid, A4 or another size, then set orientation, margins and copies.
- Create your PDF. Optionally add the 50 mm check ruler and download the PDF.
- Print at actual size. Match the paper size and select Actual size or 100% scale. Turn off Fit to page.
Width and height describe the image's placement box. With Fit entire image, an image with a different aspect ratio leaves blank space inside that box. Turn off Keep aspect ratio if you want to set both dimensions independently.
Common photo and card sizes
| Size | Inches | Millimeters |
|---|---|---|
| 4 × 6 photo | 4 × 6 | 101.6 × 152.4 |
| 5 × 7 photo | 5 × 7 | 127 × 177.8 |
| Square photo | 2 × 2 | 50.8 × 50.8 |
| US business card | 3.5 × 2 | 88.9 × 50.8 |
| Trading card | 2.5 × 3.5 | 63.5 × 88.9 |
| 35 × 45 mm photo | Approx. 1.38 × 1.77 | 35 × 45 |
1 inch = 25.4 mm; 1 cm = 10 mm. Check the required size, background and face placement for ID or passport photos. This tool sets print dimensions; it does not check official photo requirements.
Print multiple copies on one sheet
Choose Set number of copies or Fill sheet automatically to repeat your image. You can rotate, duplicate or drag images with Free placement. This tool creates one PDF page, with up to 200 placements. Images outside the page are not moved to additional pages: reduce the count or size if the preview shows overflow.
Fit, crop or stretch your image
- Fit entire image: keeps the whole image and its proportions. Blank space may remain.
- Crop to fill: fills the box with a centered crop. Check that faces, text and edges remain visible.
- Stretch to size: fills your width and height, changing the image's proportions.
Why is the printed image too big or too small?
Check both the PDF viewer and printer settings. Choose Actual size, 100% or No scaling, match the paper size, and turn off Fit to page and automatic borderless enlargement. Make a test print with the check ruler: the distance between its ends should be exactly 50 mm (5 cm, about 1.97 inches).
The printable-area guide shows the margin you entered. It does not detect your printer's unprintable edges. Increase the margins or move the image inward if an edge is clipped.
Check image resolution
The estimated DPI is calculated from image pixels and print dimensions. A 600-pixel-wide image printed 2 inches wide is about 300 DPI. Enlarging a small image does not add detail.
Import PDF pages at their original size
Select a PDF of up to 30 MB and enter page numbers, such as 1,3-5. Import up to 10 pages at a time. Pages are converted to images at their original physical dimensions and placed at the same starting position. Move them apart or export one at a time. Text search, forms and links are not retained.
Print at home or at a print shop
Use the quick setup button for US Letter, a 5 mm margin and a check ruler. Choose A4 or another sheet if needed. Download the PDF and print it as a document at 100% scale. Photo-printing services may crop or resize images to fill their photo paper; check the service's scaling options and make a test print.
Your images and PDF are processed in your browser. If you later upload the saved PDF to a print service, that service receives the file. Creating the PDF is free; printing charges depend on the printer or shop.
Frequently asked questions
Can I print a photo 4 × 6 inches?
Yes. Select the 4 × 6 preset or set width to 4 and height to 6 with inches selected. Choose suitable paper and print the PDF at Actual size.
Can I use centimeters or millimeters?
Yes. Switch between inches, cm and mm. The exact-size tool converts the entered dimensions when you switch units.
Does it find the original physical size automatically?
No. Enter the intended width and height. The tool does not recover an original print size from a file's DPI metadata.
Can I use a phone?
Yes. Choose an image and download the PDF in your browser. If your mobile print dialog has no scaling control, open the PDF with a viewer that supports printing at 100%.
Are images uploaded?
No. Image reading and PDF creation happen on your device. The page and PDF libraries require a network connection, but selected image data is not uploaded.
Why will my HEIC file not open?
HEIC and HEIF support depends on your browser. Convert the image to JPEG or PNG if it cannot be read.
